Machu Picchu, Peru

Located high in the mountains of the Urubamba Valley, Machu Picchu is the most well-known symbol of the Incan Empire. Relatively young compared to other indigenous civilizations, the sanctuary was built as late as 1450 and remained inhabited for less than a century. Today, the ruins are a well-preserved collection of temples, parks, and residences.

 

Christ Redeemer, Brazil

Standing 130 feet (39.6 meters) tall, the statue of Christ the Redeemer is located in Río de Janeiro on the peak of the Corcovado Mountain. Construction of the religious monument began in 1926 and lasted five years. Since the statue’s completion in 1931, it has inspired various similar statues around the world. Today the impressive Christ the Redeemer attracts visitors from all ends.

 

DAY 01 :  Arrival to Rio de Janeiro

 

Upon arrival in Rio de Janeiro, you will be met at the airport by one of our representative and taken to your confirmed Rio de Janeiro hotel.. You will have the remainder of the day to rest at your hotel or start exploring this vibrant city on your own.

 

DAY 02: Christ the Redeemer Half Day Tour

 

Start off your Brazil adventure with a private half-day tour up Corcovado, the mountain in the middle of Rio de Janeiro famous for its massive Christ the Redeemer statue. You’ll ride through Laranjeiras, one of the city’s oldest residential districts, and into the traditional Cosme Velho neighborhood. Here, you will board a mountain train for a scenic trip through the Tijuca forest, the largest urban forest in the world.

  Upon reaching the top, 2,300 feet above sea level, you’ll be greeted by spectacular 360-degree city views. Soak up the scenery and feel dwarfed by the 130-foot tall religious statue, one of the New 7 Wonders of the World.

  You’ll then return to your Rio de Janeiro hotel to enjoy the evening at your leisure.

 

DAY 03:  Rio de Janeiro 

 

Day is at leisure to relax or take an optional tour or visit the Sunday Flee Market at Ipanema beach to shop and bargain for folklore artifacts. (B)

 

DAY 04:  Rio de Janeiro 

 

  Day is at leisure to relax or take an optional tours or enjoy Copacabana beach  (B)


DAY 05: Rio de Janeiro- Lima - Arrival

 

Breakfast. After transfer to the airport for your flight to Lima.

Arrival in Lima, the "City of Kings" famous for its Spanish Colonial architecture, extraordinary museums and cuisine. Lima is internationally recognized as the "Gastronomic Capital of the Americas", and its cuisine is considered among the most diverse and exquisite in the world on par with French cuisine. Upon arrival a host will meet and assist you in transferring to the hotel and in registering.

 

DAY 06: Lima – Cusco (B)

 

Early morning transfer from the hotel to the airport for a short but spectacular flight over the snowcapped Andes to the oldest inhabited city in the hemisphere, Cusco, at an elevation of 11,440 feet. 

Upon arrival a host will meet and assist you in transferring to the hotel and in registering. The rest of the day is at leisure, we suggest you to rest and let your body to adjust to the altitude and minimize the chances of getting altitude sickness.


DAY 07: Machu Picchu with overnight stay (B,L)

 

Breakfast. Morning train ride through the sacred valley of Urubamba to the "Lost City of the Incas," Machu Picchu. Perched 8,200 feet above the valley, it was hidden by mountains and semi-tropical jungles for 400 years until discovered by Hiram Bingham of Yale University in 1911. Archaeologists believe that the Inca "Virgins of the Sun" took refuge from the Spanish Conquistadors here. Guided tour of the ruins upon arrival. Lunch box, enjoy the most incredible sights on earth, the sanctuary of Machu Picchu. Take as much time as you need to study these magnificent ruins. you have time at leisure before to return to your hotel in Aguas Calientes .

 

DAY 08: Machu Picchu Free Day. Return train ride (B)

 

Breakfast, morning at leisure. Afternoon return train ride back to Cusco.

 

DAY 09: Cusco – Lima – Home (B)

 

Breakfast. Transfer to the airport for your departure to Lima and your connecting international flight.
